They start as simple humanoids - Pueri ashomirae which lay eggs and don't age. They can earn their way to an ascendance, in which their horns grow and they sprout wings and talons. Verum ashomirae (the second phase) are infertile and begin to age. Verum ashomirae are widely respected among medieval societies due to the hard work they have gone through.
