Well, look no further, I bring to you... *drumroll*... the pinnacle of military engineering tech for the industrial era, bulky, but sexy flak armor.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Does it require Research?\r\u003Cbr>It unlocks with Flak Armor research. And yes, this armor is just called Flak Armor. That way you have a consistent progression of going from full body plate armor, to flak armor, recon armor and then marine armor.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>what layers does it use?\r\u003Cbr>This armor takes up middle and shell layers like all other vanilla full body armor.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>How does it compare to the rest of the vanilla armor?\r\u003Cbr>Well, here is my take on it.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Flak Armor (FA) vs. Plate Armor (Steel) (PAS)\r\u003Cbr>FA smokes PAS out of the water, next.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Flak Armor (FA) vs. Plate Armor (Plasteel) (PAP)\r\u003Cbr>About the same protection.\r\u003Cbr>FA offers better insulation.\r\u003Cbr>FA has a lower move speed penalty.\r\u003Cbr>PAP has more than twice the durability\u002Fhitpoints.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Flak Armor (FA) vs. Flak vest + Flak Pants + Flak Jacket \u002F Duster (BASIC)\r\u003Cbr>FA offers better overall protection.\r\u003Cbr>FA is slightly more durable.\r\u003Cbr>BASIC offers the best torso protection, if you like peg legs.\r\u003Cbr>BASIC offers better insulation.\r\u003Cbr>BASIC has a lower move speed penalty.\r\u003Cbr>BASIC is cheaper and easier to obtain.\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Flak Armor (FA) vs. Recon Armor (RA)\r\u003Cbr>RA has no move speed penalty.\r\u003Cbr>RA offers better insulation.\r\u003Cbr>RA offers slightly better protection.\r\u003Cbr>FA ???\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Flak Armor (FA) vs. Marine Armor (MA)\r\u003Cbr>MA has lower move speed penalty.\r\u003Cbr>MA offers much better insulation.\r\u003Cbr>MA offers better protection.\r\u003Cbr>FA ???\r\u003Cbr>\r\u003Cbr>Overall, it gives you close to spacer armor protection, but is bulky due to the lack of power-assisted movement.
