This mod changes that: weapons slowly take damage as they are fired and swung, and it adds easy ways to keep all your gear repaired so a worn weapon is never a dead end.\r
\r
WEAPONS WEAR OUT AS YOU USE THEM\r
- Every shot fired and every melee swing has a small chance to knock a point of condition off the weapon. Most uses do nothing; it adds up gradually over a lot of fighting.\r
- Better quality weapons last longer. A legendary rifle wears far slower than an awful one.\r
- A weapon will not destroy itself from normal use. Once worn down to almost nothing, the pawn stops using it so you get a chance to fix it.\r
\r
REPAIR YOUR GEAR\r
Add the matching repair bill and your crafters will fix damaged items at the bench that fits them:\r
- Weapons at the machining table\r
- Armor at the smithy\r
- Clothing at the tailoring bench\r
- Utility gear (shield belts, packs, etc.) at the fabrication bench\r
\r
Repairs happen gradually and the item keeps its exact quality, material, and name. A repair costs a fraction of what the item was originally made from (steel for a steel gun, cloth for a shirt), scaled by how damaged it is. Components are never needed.\r
\r
AUTOMATIC WEAPON UPKEEP (NO MICROMANAGEMENT)\r
Just like colonists automatically replace worn-out clothes, your pawns will automatically repair the weapon they are carrying when it drops below a condition you set. There is nothing to enable per pawn, no work type required, and it pauses while a pawn is drafted. Need it fixed right now? Select a pawn, right-click a machining table, and choose "Repair (weapon) now" for an immediate repair.\r
\r
ALWAYS KNOW WHAT A REPAIR NEEDS\r
Select a damaged item and its info shows exactly which materials a repair needs and how many you have. If a pawn cannot repair its weapon because you are out of the material, you get a quick heads-up message.\r
\r
FULLY TUNABLE\r
Four sliders in the mod options: weapon wear rate (0 turns wear off), how much quality matters, repair material cost, and the auto-repair condition (0 turns it off).\r
\r
Requires Harmony.
