Lore accurately, in my opinion. Seems balanced and much more fun.\r
\r
I consider the original impids as an unplayable xenotype. Also lore accurately, they are tribals most of the time. While you as a player just can't play them without industrial medicine.\r
\r
Let's start with what I've removed:\r
\r
Weak immunity - Tynan based this on the fact that desert people struggle to heal from infections of other regions. But they are supposed to be much more resilient to desert infections! Yet your Impids are gonna die from desert infections as well.\r
There is no difference between regional sicknesses in the game immunity system.\r
Also those savage impid tribes don't spawn only in dessert. They live everywhere!\r
\r
Slow wound healing - how can there be slow wound healing if they are made to withstand constant dry, sandy air? That's one of the main things scientists were supposed to fix while inventing this xenotype!\r
Based on the wrong fact, again. Slow wound healing in deserts is an environmental issue, not biological.\r
\r
Unhappy - I believe that was just a lazy addition to balance metabolism. While I added it to my sanguophage rework with a reason.\r
\r
Weak melee damage - Changed to "poor melee"(-4). Game just limits you to use them as ranged units. I give you an ability to play them as melee with just a little offset. They can still have passion in it too!\r
\r
Poor plants - That makes no sense. How is it even genetic. They have resilient skin(as we figured earlier), nothing should confront their ability to grow and harvest plants.\r
Maybe they should have less generational knowledge about it, but it's not an instinct, it's not genetic. Also again, they live everywhere and they must be able to learn it and to have passion in it.\r
\r
(v2.0) Hair colors - 1. Why wouldn't they color their hair? 2. Darker hair protects from heat.\r
\r
Now additions)\r
\r
\r
Naked speed - it's about fun, and making nudists highly rewarding specifically with this xenotype.\r
Let's do a little math:)\r
Rabbit speed gene. +20% speed -3 metabolism\r
Cougar speed gene. +40% speed -5 metabolism\r
Naked speed. +10%(-20% clothed) +2 metabolism\r
\r
Cougar speed + naked speed(clothed) = +20% speed -3 mtblsm = rabbit speed\r
Cougar speed + naked speed(naked) = +50% speed -3 mtblsm = bugatti speed\r
\r
In my equations, in both scenarios metabolism is -3 like in a "fast runner" gene while you get bonus 30% speed for being naked on top.\r
\r
Gooning rationalization 🧐\r
\r
Aggressive - there should be a reason they are always savage in the game, don't you think?\r
\r
Delicate &\r
Poor melee &\r
Poor mining - weaker bones, weaker hands muscle. \r
\r
Standard and thin body type only - well, they are all about running. Hulk isn't accurate because they aren't supposed to have big muscle. While fat would just die in desert, also wouldn't be able to run.\r
\r
\r
Also wanted you to know why I think "poor animals" is accurate.\r
Well, that's because animals aren't used to red people.
