If, like me, you've played Rimworld for long enough, that probably means you've seen the same few backgrounds reappearing across different playthroughs, or even in a single longer playthrough.\r\n\r\nThe aim of this mod is to break the monotony of seeing the same backgrounds over and over again. It adds 150 new backstories, split between childhood and adulthood at a roughly 1:2 ratio, all written with Rimworld lore in mind and balanced with the aim of creating a like-Vanilla experience that integrates seamlessly with a wide variety of playthroughs and colonies. Most backstories come with a mix of advantages and disadvantages; only some will create colonists who are truly useless — or truly OP.\r\n\r\nThe mod itself is lightweight. All it does is add new candidates to the pool that Rimworld shuffles when assigning backstories to newly-generated pawns. This pool is shared with vanilla backstories and any added by other mods. Backstories are assigned based on the game's pawn origin categories, so you hopefully shouldn't see any tribals spawning having spent their tender years online unless other mods are interfering.\r\n\r\nYou can find all of the included backstories, plus their stat impacts, forced traits\u002Fbody types, and category allocations \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fdocs.google.com\u002Fdocument\u002Fd\u002F1Yf7smOtyLk5xgJOCky7io_i5uKDnrgMiDw87OH5eZR8\u002Fedit?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here\u003C\u002Fa>.
