Abyssal Protocol
Late active alpha / public testing candidate. The mod is playable and already contains a substantial amount of content, but it is not a final 1.0 release yet. Balance changes, compatibility issues, and rough edges are still possible. Abyssal Protocol is a summon-driven techno-infernal endgame expansion for RimWorld 1.6. Build forbidden ritual infrastructure, open controlled contact with the Abyss, trigger escalating hostile encounters, survive elite waves, minibosses, and major boss content, then turn the remains into weapons, implants, sigils, artifacts, and deeper infernal-tech access. This is not a passive faction pack and not just another late-game stat boost. Abyssal Protocol is an opt-in progression system: you decide when to escalate, when to risk stronger summons, and how far into the Abyss your colony is willing to go. At the same time, the mod is still actively developing. Late-game balance, large modpack compatibility, Dominion runtime behavior, and encounter polish are still being improved.Core Gameplay Loop
- Unlock forbidden abyssal access.
- Build the Abyssal Summoning Circle and Abyssal Forge.
- Gather residue, sigils, and progression materials.
- Trigger controlled hostile rituals, manifestations, and domain breaches.
- Survive abyssal entities, elite units, minibosses, and boss encounters.
- Convert rewards into stronger weapons, implants, artifacts, and deeper ritual permission.

Difficulty and Progression
Abyssal Protocol uses progression-based escalation rather than static faction pressure.- Contact — first access, smaller summons, early skirmishes, and basic residue farming
- Stabilization — stronger waves, first elites, infrastructure pressure, and rising instability
- Integration — targeted combat rituals, heavier assault patterns, improved rewards, and miniboss-level threats
- Dominion — major boss progression, stronger reward gates, harsher mistakes, and advanced abyssal systems
- Final Gate / Apex Layers — planned and expanding late-game escalation beyond the current alpha spread
Known Alpha Caveats
Expect possible issues around:- large modpack compatibility
- edge-case targeting behavior from unusual buildings or utility structures
- Dominion pocket / gate runtime behavior
- UI scaling and text readability
- late-game balance against very strong mods
- encounter pacing and reward economy tuning
