Armored Recycling — A Complete Armor Plate System for RimWorld

Tired of your favorite jacket or expensive power armor turning into shreds after the very first serious firefight? This mod introduces a mechanic of swappable armor plates (ranging from Class 1 to Class 7 protection) that absorb incoming damage, saving both your apparel and the lives of your colonists.

Key Features:

  • Go from basic steel plates to advanced uranium, plasteel, and experimental ceramic options.
  • Armor plates act as real consumables. They take the hit to protect the colonist. Once a plate runs out of durability, it simply shatters.
  • You can customize exactly which apparel (including items from other mods) can accept plates directly in the game settings. Full compatibility guaranteed!
Plate Class Protection (Sharp) Durability (HP) What it reliably stops (Damage + AP) Where trouble begins Class I 22% 40 HP Revolver (11 Dmg, 13% AP), Autopistol (10 Dmg, 13% AP) Heavy SMG (12 Dmg, 20% AP) Class II 34% 55 HP Pump shotgun (18 Dmg, 15% AP), Heavy SMG (12 Dmg, 20% AP) Assault rifle (11 Dmg, 23% AP) Class III 48% 75 HP Assault rifle (11 Dmg, 23% AP), LMG (12 Dmg, 28% AP) Charge rifle (15 Dmg, 35% AP) Class IV 64% 100 HP Sniper rifle (25 Dmg, 38% AP), Charge rifle (15 Dmg, 35% AP) Charge lance (30 Dmg, 62% AP) Class V 80% 130 HP Charge lance (30 Dmg, 62% AP) — gives a 50% chance for a complete deflection Heavy mechanoid weapons Class VI 98% 170 HP All vanilla ranged weapons (any armor penetration below 98%) Only monoswords/zeushammers or modded weapons Class VII 118% 230 HP Absolutely everything. Even a Charge lance (62% AP) will be deflected almost every single time Impenetrable

How it works in-game:

1. Research the required technology. 2. Craft an armor plate at a workbench. 3. Order a pawn via the apparel's context menu (или directly from the ground) to insert it into a flak vest, duster, or power armor. 4. When a plate gets worn out in combat, just take it out and replace it with a fresh one.
