Auto Area Manager

Basically I was sick of having to manually assign colonist areas based on their mood or health so I made this mod to automate the process.

How it works

Select a colonist and turn on the Auto-manage area button in their command bar.
  • Injured, in pain, needs medical rest, or downed -> your Medical area
  • Low mood -> your Calm / Safe area
  • Otherwise -> left exactly where you assigned them

Setup

  1. Make two areas in the Areas menu, e.g. RecRoom and Hospital, and paint them.
  2. Open Options -> Mod Settings -> Auto Area Manager and set the mood/health thresholds with the sliders, then pick your Calm and Medical areas from the dropdowns.
  3. Select a pawn (or several), click Auto-manage area.

Settings

  • Pick your areas from a dropdown
  • Mood threshold - how sad before they head to the Calm area
  • Health and pain thresholds - how hurt before they head to the Medical area
  • Toggles for "needs medical rest" and "downed" triggers
  • A recovery buffer (hysteresis) so pawns don't flip-flop at the exact threshold
  • Responsiveness - how often each pawn is re-checked

Notes

Requires Harmony.Lightweight • Safe to add to or remove from an existing save. This is my first mod. Please let me know if you encounter any issues and provide a player log if possible.
