Caste System

"Every soul is born into its place — this is the ordained order."
Caste System adds a "Caste System" meme: believers are born into a rigid hierarchy, with an auto-included Caste Assignment ritual that grants each casteless member a permanent, unchangeable caste.

Five Castes

Brahmin priest-scholars / Kshatriya warrior-nobles / Vaishya merchants-artisans / Shudra laborers / Dalit untouchables — each with its own stat and skill bonuses.

Caste Society

Opinion shifts with the caste gap: higher castes look down on lower ones, lower castes revere the higher, and same-caste members feel close. Cross-caste romance and marriage are strongly suppressed.

High-Caste Demands

Once the colony is wealthy, high castes (Brahmins/Kshatriyas) grow demanding: they expect fine food, quality apparel and their own private bedroom — and lose mood when denied. The Ascetic trait waives all of it.

Caste Discrimination & Insults

The higher the caste, the more likely a colonist openly insults a lower caste (Brahmins almost always), with custom caste-flavored lines; the victim's opinion and mood suffer.

Taking In Non-Believers

The ritual can also be used on those who do not follow the caste system, but they can only be assigned the two lowest castes (Shudra/Dalit) and receive no caste bonuses; their own feelings toward others are unaffected — only believers judge them by their assigned caste.

Maternal Inheritance

Children automatically inherit their mother's caste (biological births only; adoption excluded). Before age three they have no culture, so the caste's bonuses only take effect once they join the faith.

Customization + Full Localization

Rename every caste, edit its description, and pick up to 5 custom buffs in Mod Settings — with a one-click reset. Custom names and descriptions are stored per language. Fully bilingual (CN base + EN localization).

Optional

Some content (e.g. luxury-demand lines) requires the Ideology DLC; the caste system itself also depends on Ideology.
