【CA】Digital Storage 3.

【CA】Digital Storage 3.0 (English)

⚠️ Warning: This mod is extremely overpowered. The QoL features it offers can easily trivialize the game. Use at your own discretion. Are you tired of lag caused by too many items? Frustrated by the inefficiency of vanilla logistics? Annoyed that distant colonies grind to a halt without supplies? Sick of installing a dozen storage mods that all end up being the same thing? Welcome the ultimate RimWorld storage & logistics mod — Digital Storage 3.0

What is Digital Storage?

Inspired by the Minecraft mod AE2 (Applied Energistics 2) — but even if you've never played it, think of it this way: This is not "a bigger warehouse." This mod completely abolishes the limitation that items must exist on a specific tile. Items are consumed by a core and converted into pure data — no map space, no rendering, no pathfinding impact, zero tick overhead. A fundamental revolution in RimWorld resource management.

Core Structures

  • Storage Core — Base capacity 100 categories, upgradeable through 4 tiers (Basic → Advanced → Superior → Quantum) up to 1,000. Each category holds virtually unlimited quantity (int64 max ≈ 9.2 quintillion). Requires power.
  • Storage Interface — Proxy access point. Auto-links to adjacent cores. Colonists access items through interfaces without touching the core directly.
  • Terminal Chip Implant — Craftable after research. Once implanted, a colonist can access storage remotely from anywhere. Mechanitor's implant extends to all their mechanoids.

Features

Item Digitization — Infinite Storage, Zero Footprint

100,000 steel on the ground turns your game into a slideshow. Put it in a core and it's just a number in a ledger.

Cross-Map Logistics — Zero Distance Between Colonies

Cores on the same network name auto-interconnect. Deposit on Map A, instantly withdraw on Map B. No drop pods, no delay. Just a chip or an interface on the remote map. RimWorld's one and only true cross-map logistics.

Terminal Chip — Your Warehouse Follows You

Once implanted, remote access from any location. No distance between map edge and base center. Chip functions:
  • Remote Access — Withdraw or deposit from core inventory anywhere.
  • Cross-Map Construction — Blueprints pull materials directly from remote cores. No hauling needed.
  • Cross-Map Crafting — Craft at any workstation; ingredients auto-supplied from base core, products auto-stored.
  • Cross-Map Eating & Drugs — Hungry? Eat from the core. Addicted? Satisfy the need remotely.
  • Mechanoid Sharing — Mechanitor's chip extends to all their mechanoids automatically.

Auto-Collection — 600 Stacks/s, Async & Lag-Free

Once researched, the core enables map-wide automatic collection. Three tiers: 1/5/10 stacks per tick (60/300/600 per second), completely independent from other tick operations.

Storage Filtering — Precise Control

Each core can independently configure which item types are accepted. All allowed by default, adjustable anytime.

Instant Access — No Waiting for Haulers

Colonists withdraw materials directly from the ledger. Right-click to force-withdraw a specific quantity.

Auto-Consumption — The Workstation Perpetual Machine

Place an interface near a stove — the cook pulls ingredients from the core, finished meals auto-store. Workstations feel like they have invisible conveyor belts.

Smart Retrieval — Medicine/Fuel/Repair Covered

Doctors auto-pull medicine, refuelers auto-pull fuel, repairers auto-pull components, feeders auto-pull food. No manual hauling to workstations.

Caravan & Trade — One-Click Export

Select items directly from core inventory when forming caravans; orbital trade automatically includes core stock in the trade list.

Core Destruction Protection

When a core is destroyed, inventory transfers to other cores on the same map. If none available, items drop in frames (no lag spike). Safety cap for extreme quantities.

Mod Compatibility Layer — 3.0 Exclusive

Ghost Index Injection: other mods scanning map items via standard API can correctly see Digital Storage inventory and quantities. No per-mod patches needed, works out of the box.

Why "The Strongest"?

Because it doesn't patch around problems — it replaces RimWorld's logistics model entirely. No physical stacking, no pathfinding congestion, no "hauled for three days and still not done." Items live in your ledger, like money in a bank — except without interest 😋 Other storage mods use 30 Harmony patches to band-aid vanilla. We use a pure ledger architecture + Ghost index injection, rewriting logistics from the ground up.

Is This For You?

If you only play single-base, ten-colonist settlements, vanilla shelves are fine. This is overkill. But if you're sick of logistics hell, cross-map supply shortages, and late-game 3000-item slideshows — this is your endgame answer.

Notes

  • Does not currently support storing apparel, weapons, or corpses (quality/durability data cannot be digitized)
  • Unfinished items cannot be stored
  • Core cannot be accessed without power
