DECO: Doors Expanded Continued Overhaul

I love Doors Expanded!

I love Doors Expanded! I love the blast doors, the look of the jail cells, throwing down tribal curtains in the early game, it's all great and I've used it for years. The problem: it's showing its age after checks notes 8 years, and although the Continued version fixes a lot of the worst problems, I still find it buggy and weird sometimes. So I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Introducing DECO: Doors Expanded Continued Overhaul, a ground-up rewrite of the Doors Expanded mod, reusing the textures and game mechanics I first started playing RimWorld with, but with an entirely new codebase focused on 1.6+. I fixed some bugs, made some quality-of-life improvements, and analyzed the performance to clean up the CPU usage. Save-game compatible. Still open-source under the MIT license.

Bugfixes

• Fixed remotes desyncing from doors: they obey the remotes now
• 3x2 blast doors now register for Anomaly containment
• 3x2 blast doors no longer slow down movement through them

Before, doors could desync from buttons:

Now, they'll stay open:

3x2 blast doors would slow pawns traveling through them:

Now, pawns go through normally:

QoL improvements

• You can now label remotes!
• Building remotes from a door automatically links them when the door is complete
• Clearer linking lines
• Vanilla security and autodoors can now take links
• Jail door improvements to let pawns shoot through them (they're just bars...)
• Jail and blast doors can optionally block prisoners from escaping, based on Mlie's "Prisoners Don't Have Keys" mod (thanks for making your code available!)
• Research folded into vanilla (no additional tab clutter, no special research to hang a curtain)
• Optional asymmetric door syncing: curtains and jail doors can open together when placed together
• Checked Odyssey vacuum tightness
• Tribal curtains no longer minifiable (only the 1x1 version was before?) but now give back full resources when deconstructed

Tell me that doesn't look cool:

Save-game compatibility

DECO is designed to be save-game compatible with the Doors Expanded Continued mod. It will take over any placed doors automatically. You will only get non-breaking errors for the now missing research. You can go back later as well, you may get some errors and the missing research will stay missing, but your save will not break.

What it Does

If you've never used Doors Expanded before, or just want a refresher:

Adds 2x1 and 3x1 doors and autodoors

Adds cheap, fast-opening tribal-tech curtains (they are very flammable and do not seal rooms well)

Gates are sturdy medieval-tech doors (unlocked with Smithing now)

Jail doors can be shot through (CE compatible!) and optionally stop prisoners, or they can break out of their own cell but not others

You can now shoot through jail doors (this is with the setting that prisoners can break through their own cell door):

Remote doors are quick to activate and fairly cheap

Blast doors are very tough and can block prisoners.

Remotes to open/close doors remotely. You can still secure doors to be remote-only as well.

Compatible mods:
DECO has a compatible Star Wars Edition submod:

DECO is compatible with Doors Expanded Retexture, although it gives a warning that it relies on the former mod (this is not breaking, it worked in my testing):

It does seem to be compatible with Security Clearance: all powered doors should allow keycard restrictions.
