This mod introduces two new cat xenotypes, a few custom backstories, custom factions, and custom pawn roles.
The Nikamina
Genetically engineered as soldiers for The Great Wars, these cat-like Nika have taken to ranching (and sometimes raiding) in the post-war period. But here on the Rim, post-war never lasts.
The Nikaji
Genetically engineered as scientists and support roles, these cat-like Nika joined the Nikamina on their Rim world ranches. Less accustomed to combat, they are more likely to be excellent teachers, scientists, and politicians.
The Great Wars
Long, planet wide wars waged by corporations or governments for wealth, or resources, or simply bloodshed. The Nika types were first grown in vats, and then raised in laboratories. When the Nika were able, they became self-sufficient combatants, genetically engineering themselves and operating their own growth labs to mass produce the constant stream of bodies. When the wars ended, many found peaceful life ranching and farming the Rim. Others cling to combat, and strive to tear down their peaceful neighbors.
New Backstories!
Adding 18 Adult backstories and 9 childhood backstories, with small snippets of lore and decently balanced bonuses.
New Factions
Two new factions with new icons and flavored roles. Rough Ranching Nika, and the peaceful Outlander Nika.
Synergistic Xenos
The xenotypes are designed to work together, with higher combat Nikamina and the higher science Nikaji.
Name generation
Fuaxthentic (not real) East-Asian style (loosely) name generation for Pawns and wild-west themed faction and settlement name generation.
Update: Minor changes to pawn name generationUpdate: Added additional backstories, increased the number of faction generator names and settlement names, and increased the number of possible namesUpdate: Fixed an issue caused by the Longjump Legs gene that required pawns to be hemogenic. Replaced the gene with Cat Jump Legs. 1 second warm up, 8 second cool-down with a distance of 16 instead of the 19+ from the JongJump legs. Same complexity and metabolism costsUpdate: Added compatibility for 1.6

See changenotes. Vanilla Events Expanded is one of our oldest mods, and I’m honestly shocked it’s holding up so well - it’s pretty resistant to game updates and bugs because of its simplicity. Back when I first made it with Kikohi, we didn’t know much about modding. I just wanted
1.2.1 (25/02/2020): Formal wear now counts as royal apparel. 1.2.0 (19/02/2020): This mod is now 1.1 compatible. After a hundred hours playing RimWorld you notice that every pawn wears somewhat the same things. The base game apparel is not really as interesting, unique and variou
