Faction Ideology Diversity
About
Faction Cultural Diversity lets members of the same faction follow different ideologies while preserving that faction's primary ideology. It adds cultural variety to raiders, traders, visitors, children, returning pawns, and faction changes without creating new factions or replacing existing faction identities. The mod does not generate random ideologies. It selects from complete ideologies that already exist in the current world, plus any saved ideology presets you explicitly import through the settings.Cultural Diversity
- Each faction receives a configurable diversity chance based on its primary ideology's structure, cultures, memes, and optional precept scoring.
- Raiders, caravans, and visitor groups can contain pawns with different ideologies while remaining members of the same faction.
- Children have a separate chance setting; babies and animals are not affected.
- Quest-, scenario-, or pawn-kind-fixed ideologies are preserved.
- Returning pawns normally keep their existing ideology.
World Ideologies & Extra Ideologies
- Normal candidates come from complete, valid ideologies already present in the current world.
- The player ideology is excluded from other factions by default, but this can be changed in the settings.
- Create and save an ideology preset with RimWorld's normal ideology editor, then import it from the mod's Extra Ideologies page.
- Imported ideologies can be enabled, disabled, removed, and assigned individual selection weights.
- Nothing is generated or imported automatically.
Similarity, World Influence & Cultural Spread
- Cultural similarity can make related ideologies more likely to appear together.
- World influence reflects how widely an ideology is represented by factions and settlements.
- When a faction encounters a non-primary ideology, that ideology can become more likely to appear again in the future.
- Cultural contact fades over time and can be adjusted or disabled.
- These systems change the relative choice between candidates; they do not increase the faction's overall diversity chance.
Faction Changes, Diplomacy & Social Effects
- Choose whether pawns changing factions keep their ideology, reroll for the new faction, or reroll only when the old ideology is invalid.
- Pawns joining the player faction keep their ideology by default.
- Optional cultural diplomacy is disabled by default and uses strict caps to prevent large or rapid goodwill swings.
- Optional social effects are disabled by default and add small, short-lived memories for cultural resonance or friction.
