8/10/2026 update includes seeded duplicate generation and new interactions! Read below for details!

SUMMARY

Do you like yourself? Like yourself every night, even? And yet even so, you can't help but feel like your affairs would be preferable with just a little more heterogeneity? Goodness, do we have the mod for you! This mod causes Anomaly's corrupted obelisk to sometimes produce duplicates of the opposite gender. This check is made separately from any other duplication side effects. You can even configure the chance via mod options. There's a few other notable features, too:
  • Duplicate relations: Duplicates generate with special relationships to their originators. Some pawns will think positively of their duplicates, while others will despise them innately. This can be configured using the mod options menu.
  • Attention to detail: Body type, hairstyle, head type and beard presence are accounted for when a gender swap occurs. Pregnancy and lactation are also patched for removal on gender swap; other mods can easily add similar functionality.
  • HAR integration: Races configured as monogendered (or nearly monogendered) through HAR will never be genderbent.
  • Mod extensions: The mod contains a collection of mod extensions, allowing modders to handle special exceptions for duplicates.
  • New features as of 8/10/2026!
  • Seeded duplicate generation: Duplicates are now generated using seeded algorithms and anchoring by default. This basically means that new duplicates will always be consistent for a given pawn or their duplicates, regardless of gender, through multiple generations of duplication. This can be configured using the mod options menu.
  • Duplicate-specific interactions: Pawns will have unique things to say about their own duplicates, others' duplicates, or simply regarding the presence of colony duplicates in general.

DISCLAIMER: This mod only affects the corrupted obelisk - it does not add a new obelisk!

NOTES

  • Just as with vanilla duplicates, relationships are not currently copied. Duplicates will only have the new inter-duplicate relations, and only if enabled.
  • Inbred outcome chances may be skipped completely when using certain pregnancy mods. This includes mods that affect gene inheritance.
  • A pawn may be assigned a different body or head type when genderbent. This does not affect un-genderbent duplicates.
  • For heads, GCO attempts to automatically find male/female equivalents of a given head using defName substrings.
  • For bodyTypes, GCO defers to the pawn generator's GetBodyTypeFor method, which accounts for genes, backstory and lifestage.
• Duplication methods are patched directly, so any mods that re-use them will also be affected by the genderbend chance. This can be toggled in the mod's settings. • If the "duplicate copies the look of an existing same-gender duplicate (anchoring)" setting is not enabled, same-gender duplicates will only look identical to the first duplicate created, rather than the original pawn.
  • Even with this setting enabled, duplicates of pawns who have changed their hairstyle will spawn with the altered hairstyle rather than the original.
• The fine foxes in the previews are demi foxes!
