Colonels can climb atop the sphere to play, and you can control it to emit joy pulses that invigorate everyone in the colony. Those affected by the joy pulse will receive mood boosts, increased work speed, a slower rate of decline in entertainment needs, and will not fight each other. It also emits lightball effects (if you own the Ideology DLC).
To build the Joysphere, you must complete two research projects unlocked after encountering the Golden Cube and the Nociosphere.
