Mech Chargers Repair Mechs
A simple vanilla-friendly quality of life mod for RimWorld Biotech. This mod makes vanilla mech chargers repair mechanoids while they are recharging. No new buildings. No new research. No new textures. Just your existing mech chargers doing basic maintenance. What does this mod do?
When a mechanoid is inside a powered mech charger, it will slowly repair over time. This includes:- Repairing normal mechanoid injuries while charging
- Restoring destroyed or missing mechanoid parts while charging
- Working with both regular and large vanilla mech chargers
Mod Settings
- Configurable injury repair speed (Default: 10 HP per in-game hour)
- Repair speed range: 1 to 50 HP per hour
- Toggle destroyed/missing part restoration (can be disabled for balance or modded mechanoids)
Important Note
This mod does not change mechanoid AI. Damaged mechanoids will **not** automatically go to a charger. Repair only happens while they are already using a mech charger to recharge.Balance Philosophy
This is a light QoL mod intended to make mech chargers feel more useful without adding extra micromanagement, resources, or penalties. You can adjust the repair speed in the settings to match your preferred balance.Requirements
- RimWorld 1.6
- Biotech DLC
Compatibility
Tested and working with vanilla mechanoids and vanilla mech chargers (regular and large). Modded mechanoids may work if they use the vanilla system, but compatibility is not guaranteed for mechanoids with heavily custom body parts or health mechanics.Recommended Load Order
- Core
- DLCs (Royalty / Ideology / Biotech / etc.)
- Mech Chargers Repair Mechs
Save Compatibility
Safe to add to existing saves. Removing the mod will simply stop the repair effect. Backup your save before removing mods.Bug Reports
