Want a survival-production-development experience different from vanilla? Give Nivarian Race a try! I'm committed to providing a novel, adorable, fun, and accessible gaming experience!

  • Icy Core System: Nivarians are no baseline humans! Their unique physiology requires extra care—specifically, they need regular "cold" replenishment.
  • Three Xenotypes: Nivarians come in three complementary gene-types that support each other.
  • Lumin Skills: Born psychically gifted! Lumin xenotypes have especially potent psychic abilities, and skill effects grow stronger with user experience!
  • Uplink Research: Doesn't it feel odd to unlock sophisticated technology by shuffling papers at a desk? Nivarian tech is unlocked by consuming planetary material samples to download data from the mother ship!
  • Frost-Drake: Proud, powerful deep-blue creatures—loyal and resilient. Excellent mounts for caravans and capable defenders. When idle, they hoard treasure in their nests.
  • Automated Production: Nearly fully automated facilities! The Cryo-Printer connects to pigment hoppers (red/green/blue) to print various items using primary colors; the Cryo-Forge consumes coolant for cryogenic forging of Nivarian advanced metals.
  • Scale Growth & Shedding: Nivarian physiological mechanism #2—their periodically shed scales are not only good materials but also resources for unlocking specific tech and items. Different growth stages provide different bonuses, such as armor resistance.
  • Humanoid Alien Races 2.0 (required)
  • Biotech (optional, for xenotypes, babies & children)
  • Royalty (optional, for psycast content)
Icy Core state affects Nivarian capabilities. In high temperatures, the Icy Core decays; in cold environments, it recovers. High Icy Core levels provide various bonuses, while low levels make Nivarians feel unwell—but won't prove fatal. Mod Settings

Customize Icy Core decay rates, thresholds, Lumin bonus conditions, and more in-game Mod Settings. Q: Where does the name "Nivarian" come from? A: From the Latin stem Niv-, meaning snow. Q: What do you mean by non-forcing gameplay? A: I dislike forcing players to play a certain way—except for balance or functional constraints (emphasis). Overall, I believe players are free and have the right to steer the game. So when designing the mod, I avoided "you absolutely cannot have B without doing A" and leaned toward "you can have a weaker B without doing A." Q: The content seems a bit sparse? A: Yes. First, I'm a programmer with a heavy workload; making mods in my spare time is quite difficult. So I decided to release the core first and develop DLC mods gradually. (Update: now there's plenty of content across various expansions—subscribe as you see fit!) Q: Adding mid-save...? A: No... maybe. Q: Future plans? A: After the core mod release, I'll observe for a while and iterate based on feedback. Then we'll follow our roadmap. If you're interested, welcome to our Discord or QQ group. Come chat—even just to talk! Q: Bugs / Suggestions! A: Submit here: Bug Form Q: How do I...? A: There's a work-in-progress Wiki: Wiki . Feel free to contribute! Acknowledgments (in no particular order): 神月Shione for the awesome furniture/apparel item textures design, 大王(一木) for the lovely expression textures/hairstyles, 水圣绫 for the expression texture organization and maintenance, Red Shrimp for various vector illustrations Sincere admiration and thanks to all the artists who came to help from far and wide. From Nivara's cold, to the stars, to this world. May your colony thrive.
