Long ago on the RimWorlds, a race of happy tree-dwelling birds called the Plumeans built their culture and city-states in the canopy, and all seemed well. Then one day the dragon Sigismund descended with her dragonborn, and the Plumean civilization was destroyed. The dragonborn — the Prodrakes — seized the top of Plumean society, founded the Dragon Cult to sell the dragon as their divine king, and on the birds' ruined homeland raised a unified empire: the Holy Prodrake Empire. The dragon's coming also brought wonders far beyond Plumean technology: city-sized airships, the terrible weapon of gunpowder, and — through revised laws — the birds' first standing army, the Order of the Dragon, which has guarded the Empire for over a thousand years. Now, in year 550 of the new millennium, undercurrents stir within the Empire. As the Order's new Steward, you step into the spiral of strife...

Plumeans

Humanoids with ear tufts and tail feathers: faster and smaller than baseliners, with no other physical edge. Plumeans are parthenogenetic egg-layers — they reproduce without males, and the chicks hatch ready for work, albeit without social experience. This gave rise to a mentorship system: Plumeans form family-like mentor-student hunt-groups, learning skills, traits, and passions from their teachers.

Prodrakes

Fantastical beings with great horns, wings, and tails, who rule the Plumeans. Their physique dwarfs the little birds', and they can glide between battles. Too proud for menial work, they instead inspire Plumeans through inspections, boosting their work speed. Prodrakes lay eggs too, but true offspring are rare — their eggs mainly serve rebirth: when a Prodrake falls, her egg answers the call and reincarnates her. The Order of the Dragon is the Holy Prodrake Empire's first standing army. In-game, you are its Steward, ruling a new territory.

Order Knights

The Order's pride: heavily armed cavalry. Tame wolves, horses, and thrumbos as mounts, drape them in gleaming golden barding, take up your lance, and grind enemies into paste with high-speed charges.

A Semi-Realistic Weapon System

Cold steel, polearms, bows and crossbows, and early firearms — each with its own role. Command with shield walls and banners, cut down high-value targets with Master Counter, and break the enemy with knightly charges and volleys of gunfire.

Mighty Siege Engines

The Order builds field siege engines in safe positions, then has operators push them into range for storm-like bombardments — or use their strong defenses to press close to enemy lines.

The Dragon Cult

The Empire's state religion. As its champion, the Order can have its own Dragon Priest — a Prodrake of many roles — who earns influence and gold through sermons, scripture writing, and hearing confessions, then spends influence on support.

Villages and Conscripts

Claim land in the Order's name and found villages around it. Villages supply influence and conscripts — levied little birds who answer the call when the Order is attacked, bearing their village's weapons and armor.

Order-Run Taverns

Order-owned taverns draw guests from afar and earn silver. Waitresses serve pre-poured drinks; drunk patrons pay up. Some boast of their skills, some gamble and drink-brawl, some scheme to steal or throw punches — handle it all, keep the tavern running, and level it up.

Airships

The duchies' capitals — airships — are cities that never land, cruising their routes above their territories. Spend influence to trade with them, request transport, or call down fire from the sky on your enemies.

The Plague Host

Anomaly is not required, but owners get a new anomaly — the Plague Host. Stockpile food, build quarantine zones, and face a terrifyingly contagious plague at the tolling of death bells, ending in a showdown with the corrupted Chosen — the Rotting Knight. This mod also adds a whole bunch of clothing and armor (lost count). In any case: cute little birds and dragon dames.
