π§ OUTPOST 31 β BLACKSITE ACTIVE
A paranoia-driven horror scenario inspired by The Thing.
βοΈ Overview
The drop pods slam into the ice.
There is no welcoming committee.
No nearby settlements.
No easy way home.
Outpost 31 was built to study anomalies in total isolation β to contain them, and to understand them.
The last research team stopped reporting three weeks ago.
You are not the first crew here.
You are simply the next.
Outpost 31 β Blacksite Active is a handcrafted horror scenario focused on paranoia, psychological instability, environmental hostility, and internal collapse. This is not a fair start. This is not a clean slate. Something is already wrong.
And it might already be inside your base.
π§ͺ Scenario Pillars
π Permanent unnatural darkness β The sun is gone. The base never truly feels safe.
𧬠Anomaly-focused research start β Medical, containment, and void tech unlocked.
π§ Psychological instability β Colonists are more likely to be nervous, neurotic, reclusive, psychically sensitive, or worse.
β£οΈ Low-grade toxic exposure β Someone may already be compromised.
π§ Immediate cold snap β Survival is a problem from minute one.
π‘ Scripted early events β Strange signals, then a distress call. The story begins whether youβre ready or not.
π« Extreme isolation β Wanderers, visitors, caravans, and friendly arrivals are disabled. You are on your own.
Trust becomes a resource.
And it is the rarest one on the map.
π§ Starting Situation
You begin with:
Limited, worn-down weaponry
Medical and anomaly infrastructure
Power components but no easy power solution
Food and medicine meant for a facility, not a colony
Research appropriate to a blacksite β not a crash landing
You are not settlers.
You are a cleanup crew walking into someone elseβs nightmare.
𧬠Design Intent
This scenario is built to support:
Paranoia-driven storytelling
Internal colony tension
Anomaly and void-focused playthroughs
Base-bound horror instead of open-map expansion
The slow realization that the real threat may not be raiders
If youβre looking for a power fantasy β this isnβt it.
If youβre looking for RimWorld to quietly stare back at you β welcome home.
β οΈ Recommended
RimWorld: Anomaly DLC (required)
Storyteller: Cassandra or custom Anomaly-leaning storyteller
Difficulty: Strive to Survive or higher
Commitment mode strongly encouraged
π§ Final Note
Outpost 31 is meant to feel wrong.
Not unfair.
Not impossible.
Just⦠compromised.
If your colonists start acting strange β good.
If you stop trusting them β even better.
Additionally, this is a WIP scenario so check back for improvements/updates.
