Quick Area - Continued
IMPORTANT NOTICE This is an unofficial continuation of Quick Area, originally created by HellRevenger. Original mod: Quick Area by HellRevenger Full credit for the original concept, design, code, and artwork belongs to HellRevenger. The original Workshop file has not been updated since September 15, 2025, and a reproducible settings failure reported in January 2026 still had no binary fix about six months later. This continuation was made to keep the mod usable on RimWorld 1.6 while addressing that failure and other identifiable compatibility and safety issues. If HellRevenger requests that this continuation be removed, the Workshop item will be taken down promptly. Do not enable this continuation together with the original Quick Area. Use only one of them. What Quick Area does
Quick Area makes area and zone designation faster.- Double-click the same cell to fill its enclosed room.
- Triple-click to include the surrounding walls and doors.
- Works with RimWorld's allowed areas, home area, stockpiles, growing zones, and other vanilla area or zone designators.
- Right-click options for same-origin actions, undo, furniture, and walls are preserved from the original mod.
Continued bug fixes and improvements
- Settings crash fix Opening the mod settings window no longer causes an infinite-recursion stack overflow.
- Settings cleanup Repairs the old null-list failure path and moves optional third-party tool support into a clearly explained, collapsed advanced section.
- Duplicate click-processing fix Removed a legacy duplicate patch that could process one click twice and fill an area on the first click.
- Accidental cross-cell double-click fix Repeated clicks must now target the same map cell. Two rapid clicks on different cells will no longer trigger a room fill.
- Safer outdoor behavior Filling an area that reaches the map edge is now disabled by default. It can still be enabled explicitly in the mod settings.
- Fence and gate enclosure handling Uses RimWorld's animal-pen enclosure calculation for more reliable handling of enclosed fences and gates.
- Conservative compatibility Designation tools added by other mods remain untouched by default. Existing opt-in selections are preserved, and new tools can be enabled explicitly in the advanced compatibility section.
- Patch failure isolation If one optional compatibility patch fails, other successful Quick Area patches are preserved instead of the entire mod falling back to a reduced patch set.
- Korean translation Added Korean text for the Continued settings and options.
Compatibility
- RimWorld 1.6
- Harmony required
- HugsLib is not required
- Do not use together with the original Quick Area
- Safe to add to an existing save; this mod changes designation UI behavior and does not add persistent world objects
- Designation tools added by other mods are opt-in under advanced compatibility settings
