Biological Background
Hiraiwa and Hamashima (1960) bred and studied house mice in a laboratory setting. They reported that the average litter size at birth was 5.32 pups, and the average number of pups at weaning was 4.70.
In contrast, the standard expected value of 1.58 pups in NewRatkinPlus is significantly lower than the litter sizes of real-world mice. Although this MOD’s expected litter size of 3.87 pups is lower than that of real-world mice, this adjustment is intended to represent the Ratkin’s high fertility while curbing rapid colony population growth.
Ratkin are a fictional humanoid race and are not identical to real-world house mice. This MOD does not aim to perfectly replicate research results but rather to reflect biological characteristics within the constraints of game balance.
