Your colony’s children are out on a little field trip at the edge of the map, while their parents are busy working back at base. Everything’s perfectly ordinary—until a wild Grizzly bear gets hungry.
This kind of thing happens every few days. Why can’t these pawns just stay put at home? Why do some folks insist on ignoring the fully‑stocked recreation room and go swimming in that muddy marsh on the far side of the map?
To stop these shenanigans from ruining my mood, I made this mod.
With this mod, you can disable any recreation activity you don’t like right from the mod options menu. Your pawns will then never attempt to perform the banned activities.
Of course, the same functionality also applies to the child learning mechanics from the Biotech DLC. However, due to the unique nature of that system, disabling too many learning activities may cause your colony’s children to become disinterested in studying altogether.
This mod can be safely added or removed mid-save.
Compatibility / Performance Impact
This mod is theoretically compatible with most other mods that add recreation via the JoyGiver system. On game startup, it scans all JoyGiverDefs and presents them as toggleable options. When you load a save, your settings are applied, and the mod directly prevents pawns from even attempting the disabled activities at the source.
As a result, you’ll only see a slight performance hit during game startup and save loading if you have a large number of recreation‑related mods installed. During actual gameplay, there is zero performance impact.
Mods I’ve tested
Do Something for Idle – already has its own built‑in toggle, so no extra handling needed.
Dubs Bad Hygiene – successfully detected, and the toggle works perfectly.

This mod adds two simple medical buildings that allow injured but still moveable personnel to perform rapid self-treatment, freeing up doctors to focus on those who need emergency care.
Before walker turrets and war machinery officially saw service on the wasteland, the Cinders' fighting was no different from the bloody strife in every corner of this universe—endless cannon fodder was herded onto charred battlefields, either charging in rust-eaten vehicles or co
This mod is CE-ONLY. If you haven't installed Combat Extended (CE), you'll only get a near-useless pistol from this mod. It's really disheartening to have to abandon a weapon just because it uses small-caliber bullets. Since the issue lies with the bullets, let's solve it with bu
1.2.1 (25/02/2020): Formal wear now counts as royal apparel. 1.2.0 (19/02/2020): This mod is now 1.1 compatible. After a hundred hours playing RimWorld you notice that every pawn wears somewhat the same things. The base game apparel is not really as interesting, unique and variou
As of update 1.5, Rimworld now contains wall lamps that serve the same purpose that this mod served for many, many years. So, what does this do now? Adds wall sun lamps. Lets you configure the vanilla wall lamps (and the added wall sun lamps) like you could with the old wall ligh
See changenotes. Vanilla Events Expanded is one of our oldest mods, and I’m honestly shocked it’s holding up so well - it’s pretty resistant to game updates and bugs because of its simplicity. Back when I first made it with Kikohi, we didn’t know much about modding. I just wanted
