Per the Rimworld wiki: "(As of Update 1.4.3704, rescuing fallen faction members does not improve good will. It is unclear if this is a bug or intentional)". I consider this a bug and so I went and fixed it.

Will be fixed in a future update. I’ll try to confirm whether it’s fixed or not whenever there’s an update.
This mod is implemented in a way that, when the devs do eventually fix it, it should make it so the mod does nothing and just reports a (harmless) error. So there should be no risk of it messing with your game even if you have this mod enabled after it's fixed officially.
