IMPORTANT! While the page will generally have mod versions that *should* be safe, always back up before you install! This is for testing, and it's entirely possible something was missed or is broken. That said, this mod is intended to find said issues and eradicate them. If you use this mod PLEASE, report any issues - bug or not - here!

Adds the iconic Metroid species from the "Metroid" game series, alongside all it's stages. Page will have more info later once I have a nice layout!

CURRENT KEY NOTES:

-I am looking for how this impacts a standard, modded, longer-term playthrough. I am not looking for how they play in an isolated, shorter game.

-Metroids no longer have abilities. This was the #1 issue that prevented it from being updated to 1.3. Metroids still do have life drain, and evolve.

-The metroid faction raids have been reworked. They now take tech level, wealth, time passed, and researched techs into accounts. Additionally, multiple raid tpes - from swarms to kill squads - exist.

-Metroid Evolution now supports metroids being able to evolve to more than one type. While this mostly hasn't been touched yet, it will be present later.

-Metroids are being considered to be established as primarily a late-game challenge and race type. Lore-wise metroids are absolutely devastating and lethal creatures, and I want to honor that properly. Think of them as the creature variant of the VOID faction mod. That said, this hasn't been done yet, and metroids should still be fightable. Please let me know what you think of this!

-A weapon, the cryo launcher, has been included as an "oh crap" option, if metroids are proving too difficult. Metroids are extremely weak to cold, so if you need insurance, do craft one! They will be nerfed later on, and are only as powerful as they are for testing purposes.

-There are two possible red "Mote" errors that may appear in the dev log. This is safe to ignore, as they are part of old code that will never be called (and will be entirely removed). Report any other errors to me!
