Safer Miners and Roofers improves the safety of mining and roof-removal jobs in RimWorld. Colonists will try to avoid working from unsafe positions where collapsing roofs could injure or kill them.

Main Features

Safer Mining

Colonists avoid mining jobs from positions that may expose them to collapsing overhead roofs.

Safer Roof Removal / Thick Roof Removal

The mod overrides the normal handling of thick overhead mountain roofs so that this roof type can also be removed. This allows mountains to be completely mined out while using Safe Mining Mode, without leaving behind permanent thick roof sections. This intentionally changes RimWorld's normal thick-roof behavior and may conflict with other mods that modify the same roof type or its removal. Colonists try to choose safe standing positions when removing roofs.

Automatic Roof-Removal Designation

When mineable rock is removed, the mod can automatically mark nearby roof sections for removal.

Training Book

A special book about safe underground work can teach colonists the principles of Intelligent Work.

• Can be required for learning Intelligent Work

Quest: A Miner in Need

After accepting the quest:

• The miner arrives after a delay
• Hostile animals may follow
• The miner remains temporarily
• The miner may join the colony or leave
• The training book may be awarded
