Bottomless Pits
Bottomless Pits introduces a new world map anomaly that can appear after 15 days. These bottomless pits can be used as an expandable fast travel network throughout the world!
After a bottomless pit has been discovered and the research project completed, You can open as many bottomless pits as you'd like at the cost of 1 shard. It takes 15 days to preform the ritual again, and there is no telling where exactly the pit may open.
By settling on a bottomless pit landmark, you can have easy access to your bottomless pit network from the center of your colony!
Balance
To balance out the mod a bit, I locked the Skip Abduction research behind the bottomless pit discovery. This was the least obtrusive way to even things out. It takes 15 days to preform the ritual again, and the pits spawn randomly.
There is an option in the devtool from the world map to spawn or own bottomless pits if you aren't a fan of the random placement
New Update
- Bottomless Pit Landmark for Odyssey for an early game bottomless pit network
- Vanilla Anomaly Expanded: Insanity Integration: 4% sanity loss when traveling through a bottomless pit (Requested by CommonSay and Destralos <3)
- Bottomless Pits on the world map can now be deleted
Compatibility
This mod changes the name and description of the Skip Abduction research project. It shouldn't have any issues
Preformance Impact
No impact, even with 100 bottomless pits
Vanilla Vehicles Compatible?
Yes but it's janky. This mod resets caravan movement upon arriving at a wormhole to prevent teleporting back to the initial bottomless pit, However I couldn't get the same effect working with vehicles. It won't break anything, but will look weird.
Thank you to @Greg/Okagrim for the bottomless pits art!
