World Tech Sync
World Tech Sync Factions advance with your research.
World Tech Sync
Factions advance with your research. World Tech Sync keeps AI faction technology in step with your colony’s progress. Instead of a tribal or medieval colony suddenly being hit by spacer-tier raiders, the world advances through tech stages as your research develops. The goal is simple: keep progression fair, configurable, and immersive without locking the entire planet in place forever. What it does
- Scales non-exempt AI factions to match your current world tech stage.
- Advances the world based on your completed research progress.
- Filters weapons, armor, inventory items, raid gear, and trader stock.
- Replaces weapons with stage-appropriate alternatives where possible.
- Keeps basic clothing and tech-agnostic items from being stripped unnecessarily.
- Lets you manually force the world’s tech stage if you prefer direct control.
- Supports faction exemptions, so special factions can stay untouched.
- Shows each faction’s current tech level when you inspect them or their settlements.
Configurable progression
Each tech stage can unlock at a configurable percentage of that tier’s research. If you want the world to advance quickly, lower the thresholds. If you want a slower, harsher primitive start, raise them. You can also enable manual override and set the world stage yourself, ignoring research progress entirely. The world stage never drops below your colony’s starting tech level.AI progression modes
- Full sync: non-exempt factions match your world stage immediately.
- Slow sync: factions advance over time instead of jumping with you.
- Under Slow sync, factions that start below your stage keep their own tech. Factions at or above your stage begin at your stage.
- Pace is adjustable so catch-up can be faster or slower.
- Optional surpass: AI factions may advance past you, with a tech-overreach penalty.
- Optional letters: when a faction reaches a new tech stage. Different letters based on faction relations.
Faction exemptions
Some factions should not always follow the same rules. Empire, Mechanoids, Insectoids, and Ancients are exempt by default, and you can add or remove factions from the exemption list in the mod settings. Ancients are also skipped automatically by name.Optional settings
- Show stage-change messages.
- Raise your colony’s tech level as you research.
- Filter over-tier gear and goods on traders and arriving AI pawns.
- Show the current tech stage on-screen.
- Show tech progress percent on faction info.
- Tag research projects with their tech tier.
- Enable verbose logging for item classification.
- Reset Slow sync settings to defaults.
- Reset AI faction tech levels to a fresh-game layout for your current stage.
- High tier research settings
