Connor's Loadouts!
Swap a colonist into their combat gear with one button, and back out of it with another. No more manually reassigning outfit policies and force wearing armor every time a raid shows up.What it does
- Gear up. Select colonists and press "Gear up". They stop what they are doing, take off the clothes they are wearing, and put on the best armour their combat policy allows.
- Stand down. Press "Stand down" and they change back into exactly the clothes they had on before.
- Per-pawn combat policy. Right-click the button to pick which outfit policy that pawn gears up into. Defaults to the vanilla Soldier policy.
- Works while drafted. A drafted pawn will still walk over and change. Undrafting a geared-up pawn stands them down on its own.
How the swap works
Gearing up picks armour the same way the vanilla "auto-equip" optimiser does, so "best gear" means the same thing it always has. The pawn walks to the stockpile dressed and changes there, one piece at a time, so they are never caught travelling in their underwear. Pawns pull apparel straight out of shelves and outfit stands, same as the base game in 1.6. Standing down puts the old clothes back on and carries the combat gear off to storage. If a stashed garment was burnt, stolen, or is otherwise gone, that slot is left to the normal apparel optimiser to refill. Forced apparel is never touched. Anything you force-equipped by hand stays on through both gear up and stand down.Mod settings
- Stash clothes in the pawn's inventory (on). Clothes taken off to gear up are carried by the pawn, so the swap back cannot fail because someone hauled them away. The pawn carries their weight; if they cannot, the clothes drop on the floor. Turn this off to drop them for a hauler to store, which is what the vanilla optimiser does.
- Stand down when undrafted (on). Undrafting a geared-up pawn puts their old clothes back on automatically. Drafting never gears a pawn up; use the button for that.
