A group of concerned geologists discovered that the site was built above a super volcano. Attempts were made to convince the corporation and the government to immediately cease the mine's operations, but profits took precedence over all else.
When the news went public, there were skeptics who disregarded it as fear-mongering. You, however, started prepping. Worse came to worst, and life on your planet will never be the same. Most of the world is dying in panic, but you know what to do.
Civilization has crumbled, and you must rebuild it.
