This adds - you'd never guess it - Dornians! With a tribal and outlander faction, to boot!
Note: There is a very, very mild comic spoiler in this mod. Don't worry, it's a lore / backstory tidbit, not a spoiler of any events in the story.
This mod requires Outland Genetics.

It's where the genes that make Dornians actually look like Dornians are from!
About Dornians
Dornians are a strong, violent, carnivorous species, with evolution shaped heavily by harsh competition and warfare for limited resources and power.
They strongly resemble lions, with males sporting hairy heads and necks for defense and display.
They're suited to hot environments, but their oily fur makes them vulnerable to flames.
Dornian Factions
Dornian Tribes - Neolithic. Initially hostile, but can be befriended.
Savage Dornians - Neolithic. Hostile.
Dornian Outlanders - Industrial/Spacer. Initially hostile, but can be befriended.
Dornian Legions - Neolithic/Classical. Initially hostile, but can be befriended. Requires VE Classical.
Gameplay Notes
Feeding a carnivorous xenotype can be difficult, so here's some extra info to help:
- Dornians can consume milk. Cows and yaks go brrrrr
- Winter is useful for freezing meat if you lack electricity
- As you are unlikely to have much hay, it is best to kill all animals when winter starts, except breeding pairs.
- Buidling up large piles of leather from hunting and then trading it for animals to ranch is effective
- Fish counts as meat - the coast is great!
- VE Classical lets you turn meat into jerky, which doesn't rot.
- A mod that lets you hunt with meleeists is recommended.
For More Stuff
Curse of Dorin
Battle Beast, basically.
Double-xenotype, which always has the Dornian germline and Battle-Beast specific xenogenes.
A Curse gene, which functions using the Big and Small Framework, enables the curse to be inherited despite being in the xenogenes.
Requires:
- Invincible Xenotypes - Viltrumites
The Dornian Curse does not currently appear in normal gameplay; you must cheat or customize it in. Only inheritable if you use Big and Small Framework.
This a separate xenotype from Battle Beast in Viltrumites In Rimworld, due to the limits of Rimworld modding.
You can add the Dornian Curse to non-Dornians.
Mods that give Dornians more genes:
Big and Small - Genes and More: Carnivore, Truewhite hair, Ears
Alpha Genes: Armoured Speed, Frost Vulnerability, Pack Mule, Dangerous Raid Presence
Expanded Biotech Style Genes + EBSG Framework: Meat Dependency. Also removes strong stomach.

I've encountered a bug!

I'd prefer this or that!
Xenotype Exporter and Total Control let you reshape Dornians and their factions to your liking. That said, do comment any ideas you have, so I can integrate any that I like.
Justify every decision!
Either I think it's confirmed in lore, "unconfirmed but makes sense based on what we've seen", due to the limits of Rimworld modding, or I just prefer it that way.
Possible Future Plans?
I might make a more explicitly spacer faction, but it will probably require Royalty to use.
More unique Dornian warriors.
Work the Dornian Curse into things more.
Compatibility
No known incompatibilities.
Thankyou to:
Members of Rimworld discord's modding section, for explaining things to me.
My little toe, for using its magic powers to always slam into table legs at the most painful possible angles.

Note that this channel is *NOT* Rimworld related. It's a worldbuilding channel. That said, you might notice some Rimworld-esque stuff in the worldbuilding, such as organ harvesting, war crimes, morbid hilarity and widespread cannibalism.

See changenotes. Vanilla Events Expanded is one of our oldest mods, and I’m honestly shocked it’s holding up so well - it’s pretty resistant to game updates and bugs because of its simplicity. Back when I first made it with Kikohi, we didn’t know much about modding. I just wanted
