1 xenotype: The "va'ji" (pronounced va-hee) or "mantled beasts" are a bipedal xenotype that was initially found on the desertworld Aegis. The Va'ji don't have a strong origin myth, or any ancient records dating their arrival onto Aegis which lead initial spacefarers to assume the Va'ji were a naturally evolved sentient species. This was later proven false. The Va'ji are highly accustomed to extremely hot temperatures, but rely heavily on technology to improve their own quality of life. This technology takes the form of mantlegear and a visor. To the Va'ji, these pieces of apparel are perceived of as important as clothing is for other xenotypes.

10 apparels: Split between 5 visors and 5 mantlegear. Visors are Va'ji-exclusive headgear that dramatically improve their limited natural bodies, while mantlegear is apparel that can be worn by anyone with lesser upsides.

2 factions: Simply two factions that make heavy use of the Va'ji. One is hostile, one is civil, both use slightly higher-than-average quality equipment compared to the average outlander faction.

1 ore: Aegiscite is an ore that can only be found via meteorites or by traders who happen to sell the resource. Aegiscite is a stronger-than-steel wonder material that can be used in place of woody, stony, and metallic in building projects.

1 plant: The Aegiscian mushroom is a blue bioluminescent mushroom that requires being waterside and underground to grow, while producing a constant cloud of toxic gas. The caps of the mushroom are extremely flavorful when prepared.

1 scenario: Four beasts without their mantlegear nor visors crashland onto the rim. This is a modified crashlanded scenario to start with nude Va'ji, which without their mantles, are difficult.

1 meme: Which gives 2 precepts, one for whether or not mantlegear is mandatory, and one for whether or not visors are mandatory.

How do I modify my beast's colors / pattern?

There are two ways. First is the ideology styling table, second is with dev mode + god mode enabled, select your Va'ji and use the new "DEV: Change fur" gizmo. I'll be working towards adding a Character Editor patch as soon as I can.
