Mechanitor: Synthetic Dawn - Swarms of War

An ancient machine intelligence has awakened, driven to convert all organic life into metal perfection and faultless logic. The rimworlds all agree: Destroy the Mechinator corruption. If you value your soul, take not the cursed technology, lest your greed awaken its curse once again.

🛠️ The Balance Concept

This mod is a careful balance pass designed to protect the Mechanitor playstyle from runaway wealth inflation, keeping incoming threat scaling directly aligned with your actual combat power and pawn count rather than your industrial logistics footprint. The scope of this mod is centrally focused on your foundational base-building infrastructure and non-combat, low-tech worker mechs:
  • Agrihand
  • Cleansweeper
  • Constructoid
  • Lifter

⚙️ Lore & Economics

Because individual mechanoid subcores are strictly bound to your specific Mechanitor's brain signals, external traders view disconnected units as locked, non-functional hardware. Priced only for their raw scrap metal, their compressed market value ($100 per drone, $50 per infrastructure building) keeps your industrial footprint completely hidden, allowing your synthetic factory swarm to multiply safely. Note: Combat-ready mechs (Militors, Centipedes, Scythers) retain their full vanilla costs and threat multipliers to maintain strict tactical balance.

🔧 Optional Modules (Included)

This mod operates with zero external dependencies. To activate the built-in optional modules, navigate to your local mod files: FOR STEAM WORKSHOP SUBSCRIBERS: view the readme file ".../Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/294100/3776563411/" 1. Optional Swarm Mode To mimic a mass-production machine factory and drastically lower the steel and component costs required to gestate basic worker drones, move EnableCheapCosts.xml.txt into the main "Patches" folder and remove the .txt extension. 2. Optional Passive Charging To give your low-tech utility mechs an easier early-game management loop, move EnablePassiveCharging.xml.txt into the main "Patches" folder and remove the .txt extension. This grants your workers a 5% passive daily self-charge, sustaining light starting tasks while still keeping rechargers relevant for late-game heavy industrial demands.
