Quartermasters

Four hands-off department managers. Each runs under a single Quartermaster button with its own master on/off switch — flip any module off and that department reverts cleanly to vanilla.

👕 Apparel Quartermaster

Stop hand-setting tailoring bills and assigning armor piece by piece. It forecasts each colonist's wardrobe, keeps everyone clothed, and auto-disposes of rags. The standout is role-aware armor:
  • Shooters get steered into mobility armor (recon)
  • Melee fighters get heavy plate (cataphract / marine)
  • Favors fireproof devilstrand over cloth, and picks the right textile per piece
It only ever touches its own bills — never your authored ones — and won't overproduce.

🍳 Kitchen Quartermaster

No more babysitting meal, butcher, and hunting bills as the colony grows. It sizes meal and pemmican production to your real eater count and days-of-supply target, and picks the best meal tier your best cook can actually make (falling back if ingredients run short). It also runs:
  • Auto-butchering — with a meat cap so a corpse pile isn't turned into food that just rots
  • Safe auto-hunting — only marks targets that are genuinely safe (no predators, manhunters, bonded, or megafauna; reachability-checked) and respects any hunt you cancel

💊 Medical Quartermaster

Never open the Health tab to set care levels again. It writes each pawn's medical care directly:
  • Best medicine for surgery, critical wounds, and disease
  • Cheapest in-stock for routine care
  • Sensible caps — colonists Best, prisoners/slaves Normal, animals Herbal
It keeps a self-maintaining medicine buffer (keep 10 + 3 per colonist) and refreshes off live stock, so a wounded pawn is never routed to medicine you just ran out of.

🐫 Caravan Quartermaster

Skip the Form Caravan dialog math. When you open the dialog it auto-supplies medicine (per-colonist, tier-capped, never sending anyone out med-less) and ensures a food buffer for the trip. If you're short, it tells you why:
  • Carry-weight shortfall → offers to add a pack animal
  • Out of food → stops and says so plainly

Notes

  • Each module has a master on/off switch — turn off what you don't want, vanilla behavior returns
