Enjoy Your Stay!

Tired of fake online play? Bored of facing the AI every time? With RimPoker - Multiplayer, you can now enjoy RimPoker together with your friends inside a multiplayer mod! This mod supports both Multiplayer and RimWorld Together. However, because the two multiplayer mods structure their colonies differently, RimPoker's multiplayer works differently on each. RimPoker - Multiplayer is a multiplayer add-on that lets you enjoy RimPoker's card games with other players. On Multiplayer, you open games together within the same colony; on RimWorld Together, you keep your own colonies and invite each other to play. If there aren't enough people, AI fills the empty seats, and you can play however you like — from friendly games to wagering real silver.

Key Features

  • Supports Multiplayer and RimWorld Together
  • On Multiplayer, empty seats are all filled with AI
  • On RimWorld Together, you can freely adjust the number of human and AI seats
  • Adds a Multiplayer Poker menu for playing with other people (comms console required)
  • Friendly games supported. On RimWorld Together, a buy-in setting lets you wager each colony's silver.
  • AI fills empty seats so you can play even with only a few people
  • With the RimPoker - Hwatu add-on installed, Seotda, Matgo, and Go-Stop are also supported in multiplayer

Supported Multiplayer Mods

RimPoker - Multiplayer supports two multiplayer environments.
  • Multiplayer
  • RimWorld Together

Multiplayer

In Multiplayer, all players share a single colony. Because of this, it's difficult to handle each player wagering separately, so only spectating and friendly games are available. Player-vs-player games are run from a separate comms console menu, Multiplayer Poker.
  • A single colony shared by multiple players
  • Regular online poker is shown as vs-AI only
  • You can spectate ongoing online (solo) poker
  • Player-vs-player games are run from the Multiplayer Poker menu
  • Players in the same session join the open seats
  • Empty seats are filled automatically with AI
  • Settlement results are synced to the shared colony

RimWorld Together

In RimWorld Together, each player plays in their own colony on the same server. Open the Multiplayer Poker menu on the comms console to start a game with other people. The host — the dealer — chooses the game type and settings and invites other players to join.
  • The host chooses the game type
  • Set the number of human/AI seats and the buy-in
  • Invite other players via the Multiplayer Poker menu
  • Seats are arranged up to each game's maximum player count
  • The existing online poker on the comms console is still usable
  • Settlement results are applied separately to each colony
If you run RimPoker's existing online poker in Multiplayer, you enter spectator mode. Multiplayer Poker is played as a friendly game, with no silver spent. In RimWorld Together, running online poker works just like before, with no separate spectator mode. Multiplayer Poker can be played the same as online poker — as a friendly game, or by wagering your colony's silver, settled by each player's profit or loss. The host must hold silver equal to the chosen buy-in to start the game.

How Invitations Work

In Multiplayer, players in the colony can join in by spectating or playing friendly games. In RimWorld Together, the host invites other players directly. Pick players in the invite selection window and send invites; only those players receive a join request.

Game Rules

All rules and settings follow those of the host who opened the room. Even if participants' local settings differ, everyone plays by the same rules within a single game.

Supported Games

You can enjoy the games included in RimPoker in multiplayer.
  • Texas Hold'em
  • Seven Card Stud
  • Blackjack
  • Old Maid
If RimPoker - Hwatu is installed, you can also enjoy hwatu games in multiplayer.
  • Seotda
  • Matgo
  • Go-Stop
Seven Card Stud's American/Korean rules, the 2/3-card Seotda variants, and so on follow the host's settings. Old Maid is played without wagering, so it has no buy-in setting.

Q1. Is it stable?

We can't promise that. Most testing was done locally, and given the nature of multiplayer there may be many bugs.

Q2. Does it use real money?

No, it only uses your colony's silver/gold.

Q3. Can't I start if there aren't enough people?

You can. AI can fill the empty seats.

Q4. Is the RimPoker - Hwatu add-on required?

No. It adds extra support if present; without it, only RimPoker's features are used.
