Your colonist chats for a few rounds, then forgets everything they talked about moments ago. The AI says it remembers — but that's a hallucination. There is no actual memory record.

RimTalk makes colonists talk. Expand Memory helps them organize conversations. But once memories are compressed, they become isolated summaries. You can never find the original dialogue again. It's like a git repo with no commit history — you know what changed, but not how.

Anchor Tree Memory does one simple thing:

Give every colonist an anchor tree. When memories accumulate past a threshold, the AI auto-generates anchor summaries — but the original text is always preserved in the leaf nodes. Daily AI conversations only look at the anchors to save tokens. When you need to dig deeper, follow the anchors layer by layer to uncover the raw records.

The anchor tree is just the foundation. In the future: a full interaction system. Colonists will make demands based on their personality, remember your promises, develop their own little quirks. Your pawns stop being tools — they become characters with memory, opinions, and a temper.
