[WYD] Primitive Traps
Allows crafting a few more traps.
Allows crafting a few more traps.
Why the dependency on Primitive Firearms, you ask?
Because this mod adds all of four new traps, two of which are dependent on the Black Powder research, and items added in that mod. Now I could had added the research to this mod, but that would have meant having to faff around with a patch to ensure game did not try to add the research twice, and who knows what would have happened?
Given that 50% of the traps require that research, this way was far easier. Besides, that mod is just as lightweight, so it will not impact negatively to have both, and they compliment each other in any case.
Traps included are;
Spiked Floor - Adds a small cluster of spikes to a tile. They do not always trigger, but they do not require replacing unless broken (if that is even a thing, but they have hit points so who knows) Can be made of any material, and requires no technology to unlock.
Man Trap - A spiked clamp that latches on a pawns legs. Falls in line with the vanilla Spike Trap in that once triggered, must be replaced (has outline too). Applies blunt damage as appose to the in-game Spike Trap's sharp damage so in theory should down more hostiles - assuming they aren't killed. Crafted in metals only. Requires Smithing research again*.
Black Powder Urn - Looks pretty. Pretends to be decorative, but is actually an explosive trap. Ka-boom, yo. Naturally will need replacing once it sets off (no outline though). As mentioned above, requires Black Powder research. Can only be made from a stone type.
Flame Urn - Looks pretty. Pretends to be decorative, but is actually an incendiary trap. Twisted Fire Starter. See above. Likewise, requires Black Powder research. Can only be made from a stone type.
While most of the textures are my own (the urns being re-skins from the vanilla urn) The texture for the Mantrap is from Fierydraken's A18 Bear Trap mod that sadly does not have a working update. Go check out the author anyway at the below link:

*No longer requires the Smithing research because the game refuses to recognise the trap as viable for the "rearm" option when a research requirement is set. Why does the game do this? Don't ask me..They fixed this issue at some point, so I have returned the research requirement^^
Now with The Walk of Pain, Ow, My Frikin' Knee! and Take My Nice Things, I Dare You achievements! (requires Vanilla Achievements mod)
