Maid and Master Relationship
Maid & Master Adds a full-on household service system to your colony.
Maid & Master
Adds a full-on household service system to your colony. Think masters/mistresses, maids/manservants, actual wages, etiquette, and even a bell you can ring when you want something done.
Made with medieval-style colonies in mind and tested with big modlists like Medieval Overhaul, VFE Medieval, and Titular Royalty—but it works fine in any playthrough.
The Relationship
Adds two new relationships: Master (or Mistress for women) and Maid (or Manservant for men), shown clearly in the Social tab.
Both sides get opinion boosts (fully adjustable in settings).
Romance is disabled by default for realism, but you can turn it on if you want.
One master can have multiple servants, and servants can serve multiple masters.
Losing someone in this relationship hits harder emotionally with custom grief effects.
Children are called Young Master/Young Mistress for the servants that serve a master if they have children.
Etiquette & Social Behavior
New interactions where servants act properly—serving, assisting, and showing respect.
Masters can give orders, correct behavior, or (rarely) show appreciation.
Etiquette system prevents servants from insulting masters, and limits casual chatter (adjustable).
Servants still talk and gossip with other staff behind the scenes.
Automatic Serving
Servants will bring food when their master is hungry and alcohol when mood drops (supports modded drinks too).
You can tweak when these triggers happen.
Family support included: spouses and kids get served too (no alcohol for minors, babies handled normally).
Mood buffs for both sides—comfort for the master, duty/fulfillment for the servant, plus care bonuses when sick.
Ring for Service
Each served pawn gets a bell button that opens a service menu
- Send for a meal – delivered straight to you
- Send for a drink – adults only
- Call to my side– they come immediately
- Have my chambers ready – cleans your bedroom and gives a comfort boost
- Fetch medicine – if you're sick or injured
- Get dressed – boosts Social Impact for the day
- Take as Escort – servant follows you around
- Send a message – improves relations with another pawn
- Carry my stuff – transfers your inventory to the servant
- See to the nursery – Your servants will tend to their masters babies
Bonus the children are known as Young Master/Young Mistress in the social tab.
Servants also have a “See to duties” button that makes them check the whole house for tasks.
Wages & Loyalty
Servants get paid from your stockpile on a schedule (you control the amount and timing).
Accepts silver and modded currencies like medieval coins.
If they’re not paid, they’ll start to get unhappy—and eventually disloyal.
Long-term service builds strong bonds and triggers milestone events.
Disloyalty
- Push a bondservant to an extreme break and there's a chance they snap and come for their master specifically. chance is a slider, go wild
- servants who hate someone in the household get petty about it tainted meals that just look like regular food poisoning, clothes wearing out weird, furniture getting handled a little too rough. no alerts. you find out when you find out
- spouses get jealous of servants the master likes more than them and start scolding them for nothing. servant might hold a grudge. grudge makes everything above worse. it's a whole cycle
- all toggleable in mod options
Royalty Integration
Serving nobles gives extra prestige mood buffs.
Higher-ranked nobles pay better wages (up to double).
Works with Royalty DLC and mods like Titular Royalty, but doesn’t require them.
Hire Servants
- You can hire servants for 30 days for 300 silver must be in a stockpile. You can customize the amount in the mod settings.
How to Assign Roles
Easiest way: use the new gizmos on a pawn (Take into service / Swear service / Release).
Character Editor: add the relationship manually and it auto-links both sides.
Dev mode: use debug actions to assign the relationship directly.
Settings
Everything is customizable—20+ options covering opinions, romance rules, etiquette strictness, serving behavior, wages, alerts, royal bonuses, and more.
Compatibility
Requires Harmony but not needed, it helps though (load it first). Works on RimWorld 1.6.
Safe to add mid-save. Removing it won’t break your game (just removes the relationships).
Detects other mods automatically (drinks, currencies, job systems) and adapts.
Doesn’t overwrite vanilla content or add unnecessary items/research.
