**WorldPawn version**

This mod was born from a simple idea: by having pawns with no immediate jobs sit down in a pose that makes them look busy, such as reading or using a computer, and then moving them to the background as WorldPawns while leaving a still image in their place, perhaps the game can be made lighter while maintaining the colony's atmosphere. This version removes the pawns from active map processing and leaves a still image behind to preserve their presence. The goal is to greatly reduce the amount of processing required while preserving the feeling of a lively colony. Note: Another version of this mod is also available. Neighbors-Style Colony: Pawn Idle Skip (Tick Skip)

Version Differences

Tick Skip version - When a pawn wakes up, a temporary processing load of approximately 0.7 ms per pawn occurs. - This version provides more stable TPS when accurate prediction of needs such as Food and Rest is important, or when many pawns wake up within a short period. - Its overall performance improvement is lower than the WorldPawn version. WorldPawn version - When a pawn wakes up, a temporary processing load of approximately 2.2 ms per pawn occurs. - This version provides a much greater performance improvement when pawns are kept frozen for long periods, with less emphasis on accurately predicting needs such as Food and Rest. - However, TPS can become unstable when many pawns wake up within a short period. - The "Number of pawns allowed to wake up per in-game hour" setting is particularly important for this version.

How to Use

1. Assign a Bed A pawn's assigned bed determines whether the pawn can become frozen. 2. Choose a Waiting Location The location where the pawn will be frozen is determined by either a chair or a designated marker. In short: Bed = Determines the pawn to freeze Chair / Marker = Determines where the pawn is frozen

Main Features

1. Make Pawns Wait at Designated Locations Guides idle pawns to designated chairs or markers and makes them wait there. This reduces the number of pawns wandering aimlessly, creating a natural sense of life where "pawns spend their free time in specific places." 2. Optimize Idling Idle pawns waiting at designated locations are moved to the background as WorldPawns, while a still image is left in their place. This removes them from active map processing while preserving their appearance. *Note: In environments with very few waiting pawns, performance improvements may be hard to notice. 3. Optimize Sleeping Pawns Sleeping pawns are also moved to the background as WorldPawns, while their appearance is preserved with a still image. This reduces the processing load caused by sleeping pawns during the night. 4. Flexible Access Control You can restrict access to waiting spots by family units or other criteria, allowing you to use specific areas exclusively for certain pawns. 5. Create a Lively Colony Atmosphere Rather than simply freezing pawns, having them wait at designated spots helps build the colony's atmosphere. By placing markers in shop seating areas, recreation rooms, or living rooms, idle pawns will naturally gather there, creating a space that feels genuinely lived-in. 6. Recommended for Large-Scale Colonies This MOD truly shines in large colonies (e.g., 100+ pawns) where there tends to be a high number of idle pawns.

Specifications and Mod Options

You can finely adjust pawn recovery (un-skipping) via the Mod Options. Wake-Up Limits You can adjust the "Total number of pawns allowed to wake up at once" and the "Number of pawns allowed to wake up per in-game hour." Need Simulation When a frozen pawn wakes up, its "Rest," "Food," and "Recreation" needs for the frozen duration will be reflected using simulated values. A minimum of 5% is guaranteed during long-term freezing. Auto Wake-Up Conditions When the following conditions are met, pawns will automatically be targeted for wake-up. The Mod Options settings take priority over these conditions, with some exceptions. - When sleeping is completed (Rest is full). - When a scheduled work shift starts. - When the "Minimum Wait Time" configured in the options has passed. - When the Food need drops below 15%. - When chairs, beds, or markers take damage. Freeze Exclusions Pawns requiring continuous processing, such as those who are bleeding or receiving medical treatment, will not be targeted for freezing.

Notice / Additional Notes

Sleep Pose Graphics When loading a game, a still image of a WorldPawn in its sleeping pose cannot be generated because the actual pawn does not exist on the map. To prevent the sleeping pose from disappearing after loading, a highly compressed image file is stored in the save data. However, this may become an issue if the save data is already large. For this reason, an option is available to disable saving these image files. Emergency Wake-Up Frozen pawns are represented by graphics without an actual pawn entity. When an emergency wake-up is required, please restore the pawn at the furniture where its graphic is placed or at its registered bed. DLC Compatibility Not tested with the Anomaly, Ideology, or Royalty DLCs. Odyssey DLC When launching a Gravship in the Odyssey DLC, designated SKIP positions and settings will be automatically cleared. Scope of Optimization This MOD only optimizes pawns sitting or standing in specific designated locations. It does not improve performance for animals, moving pawns, or turrets, so using it alongside other performance optimization tools is recommended. *regarding turrets: Another approach is to avoid deploying turrets except during raids. This can be achieved using my other MOD, "".
