The best of the Experience

Due to popular demand, I have made a brief but full list of mods I consider to be the core of the Generic Ammo Experience!

So, what's this list about?

The best of the Experience is a plug-and-play, Combat Extended-focused collection. The collection is suitable for everyone, from curious newbies just wanting to try out Combat Extended to veterans of the mod who seek something new. With the Generic Ammo Experience and its submods, this collection includes about three thousand XML patches and numerous compatibility assemblies to make sure everything works nicely together.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist and you will probably be able to tell after playing with this pack. A lot of overlaps have been patched out, redundant items have been removed and inconsistencies have been fixed.

Mods of note:

The star of the show, the Generic Ammo Experience, is a huge collection of over 2500 patches that each improve Combat Extended, one patch at a time. The experience also provides some much-needed essentials like over 400 new textures to replace many Combat Extended textures with more vanilla-style ones, a rebalance of auto turrets alongside the rarely-before-seen autoloaders, and extensive patches to make sure everything works flawlessly!

The Buffs and Nerfs module brings a huge variety of balance changes to Combat Extended. A complete rework of all ammo recipes, various melee buffs and many quality of life changes are just the tip of the iceberg here!

The Weapon Range Rebalance is a complete, more gameplay-oriented, rebalance of all weapon ranges. Smaller maps with Combat Extended are now much more bearable!

Sneaky Bastard brings a PAYDAY 2-style dodge system to Combat Extended, making lighter builds far more viable!

Various new ammo type mods that make some more niche options for more viable. Pistol carbines are now no longer useless in the end-game!

Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security adds a variety of new defense options, including dedicated anti-air turrets for shooting down incoming air targets!

And, to top things off, a choice selection of weapon mods. Any overlaps between these mods are automatically resolved by the experience!

Notes

- Before anything, go to Combat Extended's mod settings and make sure the generic ammo setting is on! The experience should automatically enable this setting but it doesn't hurt to make sure.

- If you like the collection and would like more high quality, deeply-integrated content, check out the Director's Cut companion collection here!

- You are free, and even encouraged, to add mods to this collection. The experience has patches for many, many mods. I only included what I have deemed to be the most essential.

- The collection also includes some texture mods. These mods are sorted to the end of the collection. If they are not to your taste, just unsubscribe from Facial Animation - WIP and everything below that mod.
These mods were added to make the whole pack plug-and-play. If you so wish, you can simply enable all the mods from this collection, add nothing else, and still get a fully cohesive experience!

- For the mod load order itself, simply autosorting the whole list should work. The experience has a loadAfter/loadBefore entries for every mod in this collection so things should sort themselves out.
However, if you'd like to manually sort the mod yourself, the general rule is:
\- Mods that are patched by Combat Extended, like the Vanilla Expanded series of mods, should be loaded before Combat Extended.
\- Mods with built-in Combat Extended patches, like the Cat's Boots and Gloves mod, should be loaded after Combat Extended.
\- The Generic Ammo Experience should be loaded after Combat Extended, and its various sub-mods should come after it. If you're unsure about what goes where, follow the instructions the mod manager gives you.

    CE Extensive Animal Balance Tweaks

Intro Have you ever found it strange (and imbalanced) that platemail can make your pawn practically invulnerable to Bears/Rhinos?

  4. Proper Polearms

    Proper Polearms

This is a simple mod that gives some extra range to long polearm-style weapons like halberds, spears, etc.

  5. The Tiny Tweaks Collection

    The Tiny Tweaks Collection

Tweaks some aspects of the game and various mods, generally removes stuff I personally find to be unbalanced, redundant or not fun to play with.

    CE: Armor-Piercing Special

I always disliked how quickly SMGs and especially pistols fall off in CE once raiders start to get proper armor.

  7. Vanilla Weapons Expanded

    Vanilla Weapons Expanded

We are not responsible for CE patch, nor are we responsible for CE balancing or in fact anything regarding CE.

  8. Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security
    furniture

    Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security

Check change notes. Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Security is a complete overhaul and rebalance of the original security module, addressing outdated balance and vastly expanding defensive options from early to late game. For the new players, this mod should be the ultimate thing y

    Vanilla Apparel Expanded

1.2.1 (25/02/2020): Formal wear now counts as royal apparel. 1.2.0 (19/02/2020): This mod is now 1.1 compatible. After a hundred hours playing RimWorld you notice that every pawn wears somewhat the same things. The base game apparel is not really as interesting, unique and variou

    Vanilla Textures Expanded

1.6.0 (16/07/2020): Updated to 1.3. Honestly, we added so many textures (including almost a full retexture of Royalty) I'm not going to bother. 1.5.0 (11/10/2020): Added faction icons in HQ. 1.4.0 (04/09/2020): Added various new textures: Snowmen, Flatscreen TV, Unfinished appare

    Vanilla Hair Retextured

Just a simple retexture of all vanilla hair, making them higher resolution for a cleaner result and making the style more consistent and in places just less fugly.
